The Bottom Line

Seattle is a wondrous place. This last week and the first part of this week was very busy with the Eye of the Lotus lecture at Stargazers Books in Bellevue, Flower Readings and the many private sessions. It seems that so many people everywhere are interested in two main things:

· Tell me what is going on in my life

· Tell me what I can do about it

This “bottom line” view of metaphysics is precisely what is needed today in this world of quick information and the blurring movement of technology. We live in an age where one can obtain vast amounts of information and communication in an instant.

But information is not knowledge; knowledge is not wisdom; and wisdom is not realization. The effects of the open heart to discern the difference yields the transformative condition of the evolution of one’s personality to be more soul-like.

Also, receiving the “bottom line” is not meant so much as information, but as a “tool”. It is in the application of metaphysical principles that one achieves change in their life. Similar to the gym, if you don’t use the weights, you won’t achieve change. The resistance of the weights equals the vulnerability, the open heart one must have to obtain the straight path to their higher states of being. When you work against the resistance to be vulnerable to your true Self, you achieve the development of your character in this lifetime. You live in Dharma (right action, right behavior).

RESISTANCE = VULNERABILITY

The change we seek is to overcome the illusion of separation, thus reducing suffering. Always it begins with us, within ourselves, the inner determination to do our best no matter the exterior circumstances.

Be vulnerable to the inner voice that speaks through your heart. From that place of peace and harmlessness, imagine what you could accomplish. The more you listen to your feelings, the stronger you’ll be.

That’s the bottom line.

Given in love and in service,
Richard Jelusich, Ph.D.
