The Sixth Chakra-Dominant Individual

The sixth chakra (brow center) is at the edge of the human potential and possibility of achieving a plausible explanation as to its influence in a person's life. Picture the vibrations of chakras one through five as you would the notes on a piano; one following the next. The vibration of the sixth chakra, however, is a full octave above the fifth (throat).

Over the years, I have found only a very few individuals who have a sixth-chakra dominance, because it is so rare to have one's influence focused there. In fact, it is so very difficult to describe, that this consideration of the sixth chakra's influence is cursory at best.

If the fifth chakra represents the communicator and one who is by default psychic because of that chakra's influence, then the sixth chakra individual would represent the clairsentient. The definition of clairsentience literally means "to know that which cannot be known." Clairsentience is the highest of all psychic abilities wherein one simply "knows" rather than sees, hears, etc., a particular phenomenon. This state of knowing is pervasive to the individual's awareness. So much so, that the individual is often unaware that the advanced state of clairsentience exists.

In some cases, individuals with other dominant chakras may have a reference to the sixth; meaning that in addition to the native strength of their dominant chakra's influence, that person also benefits from a reference to the influence of the sixth chakra. This often adds prominence to the given dominant chakra, enhancing its native strengths (and weaknesses).

The effect on one's life includes the prescience of the fifth chakra to a higher degree of pervasiveness in one's life. Its influence causes one to be absorbed in the future to the effect that the mind is always considering the next move, the next sentence and by its nature assures that the mind is exceptionally busy at most times with many concurrent thought patterns. The prescience assures that there will be some suffering from being able to think of far more than that which can be accomplished. The mind thus capitulates to the power of the sixth chakra, in most cases, by succumbing to the state of prescience due to the lack of any evidence or information that this is leading the individual to imbalance.

One tends to live in the future, not focusing on the present moment. The power that comes through the sixth chakra affects the four archetypes of being human: mental, physical, spiritual and emotional.

Usually, when one learns of the imbalance of too great an influence of the mind, this is brought on by emotional suffering, which brings on the contemplative moments to reflect that the mind suffers from "mentalisms".

One of the greatest problems of the lower aspect of the sixth chakra dominant individual, mentalisms cause the individual to create mental images of emotional states. This is because of the high vibration of the sixth chakra, similar to that of the fifth (throat) chakra, leads one to simultaneously be out of body and in avoidance of a corporeal presence due to the possibility of suffering pain when in the body. One would say "I think I feel", instead of "I feel". This simple turn of words expresses the essence of the difficulty or challenge to be in the sixth chakra.

Thus, the strength of the sixth chakra is its weakness. The incredible power of knowingness from clairsentience creates an inverse relationship, where there can be great difficulty in true feeling of the emotional state. Many sixth chakra dominant individuals have very little or no idea that they are even a victim of their own mentalisms. They may merely assume that they are different, or can imagine that they feel a certain way without ever achieving the true feeling.

Many sixth chakra dominant individuals have the sense that they are ahead of their time, that they may have been born a few years too early. Indeed, this is very close to accurate, for the clairsentience literally makes the individual prophetic. This is at once wonderful and ponderous.

The positive aspect is that these individuals ground energies and information that are previously unavailable to others. These individuals would be the first, the prophets, to bring in the new information: the first to ground it onto the Earth plane. Their life's purpose is to stand at the edge of what humanity understands, and offer the fruit of high truths to humanity. Several Tulkus (a former Lama or Rinpoche with full memory of a past life) represent sixth chakra dominance. Unfortunately, the first thing to get stomped out in the history of our human evolution has always been the truth. Many sixth chakra individuals are martyred, one way or the other.

The negative aspect is that of imbalance of the emotions and of the tremendous responsibility of knowingness enshrined in the petals of the sixth chakra.

The emotional impact is due to the tremendous emphasis on "knowing" at the expense of truly feeling. The separation of thinking from feeling should only be regarded as two sides of the same coin; a healthy individual experiences both equally. With the negative aspect of the sixth chakra affecting mentalisms in one's life, there exists great separation (illusion) from the true emotional state, and this separation causes great suffering until the individual begins to emphasize the emotional aspect of their human nature. That individual must focus on the feelings, or feeling state, without subordinating the mind. This can be achieved through daily practice of heart-centered meditation.

The other negative aspect is the knowingness of the sixth chakra reality, and can be seen in several neurological and psychological disorders. Schizophrenia exists when more than one dimensional reality "bleeds" through into this dimension simultaneously, as more than one aspect of the individuated soul vies for prominence in the third dimension. Autism exists when the mind is so affected by the influence of the sixth chakra, that externalization of the personality is shunted to the inner mind. Witness the mute brilliance of so many autistic individuals who have otherwise not been able to fit in with the consensus of social reality.

Presented below is a heart-centered exercise for the sixth chakra-dominant individual.

Heart-Centered Exercise

This exercise is intended to help you come from the heart, and to sense others and your world from your feelings.

Close your eyes. Take a deep cleansing breath.

Imagine a beautiful ball of energy floating weightless inside your sixth chakra (inside the forehead). It is about the size of a tennis ball and is a platinum color.

See or feel it begin to descend slowly down, past the back of your eyes, your nose, your mouth, your throat, and experience it coming to rest just over your heart, within your chest.

Feel this platinum ball of energy in your chest, and move your physical eyes into this ball of energy. It is as though you actually "see" from over your heart in your chest. Look out on your world and experience what you "see". Now, "look" at someone around you (physical eyes shut) and take an inventory of your experience. Look over the top of your head. You could not see over the top of your head with your physical eyes, but with these eyes you can see in to any time, past, present or future, and into any place, dimension or level.

Now move your physical ears into this ball of energy. It is as though you actually "hear" from over your heart in your chest. Listen from over your heart. 95% of all communication is not verbal, it is energy. What is really being said? What is really the truth? Listen, and experience your world.

Now move your sense of taste, touch, and smell into this ball of energy. It is as though you actually experience these senses from over your heart in your chest. Experience your world.

Lastly, when you speak, imagine that your apparatus to make speech is now located in this ball of platinum energy floating over your chest in your heart. It is as though the sound of your voice actually emanates from your chest. And when next you meet someone, speak from over your heart and experience the whole person.

Center again, breathe and open your eyes.

This meditation is meant to be done with your eyes open, when you are in the company of others, or at any time (though not recommended for driving). Use this meditation to behold others from your heart. You do not abandon in any way the use of your thoughts, mind, or discernment. This exercise balances your heart with your mind; two sides of the same coin.
